There are a number of McCurdy/Stewart relationships recorded in the list
of claimants to the Hutchinson Bequest (contained in Hill's pamphlet on
the Stewarts of Ballintoy, but also, and in more detail, in the First
Report of Francis Dobbs, Barrister-at-Law), which is the source of much
of our information on the family of Stewart of
Ballintoy. Some of them have been traced back from modern times through
to the original move from Bute to Co Antrim

The McCurdys left Isle of Bute under religious persecution and went to County Antrim Ireland in 1666. Funny a Stewart and McCurdy would meet 300 yrs later in Chicago and marry!
