I am researching African American Stewarts. I have searched as far back as
1870, but I have birthdates of relatives dated as far back as 1828. Andrew
"Andy" Stewart was born in 1828 and was married to a Martha ?, born around
1838. They had two daughters, Louiza and Texanna, and also two sons Eli
and Edward (not sure of the spelling of names). They were all born in
Alabama, but I am not sure what county. In 1870, they appear on the Conecuh
County census. If you have any information on this family please contact
