Hi,
I am researching my husbands' family. His GGgrandmother was Julia A Stewart
daughter of Stephen Stewart and Hannah (Sargent) Stewart. Julia was born
Nov. 30, 1835 possibly in Vermont or NY. Her family went to Mahoning Co., OH
as she married one William Thomas there, Nov 30, 1858. They lived in
Youngstown or near by. Here husband William came from Wales in 1857 and had
a boot and shoe business for several years then a produce business. They
moved to Bushnell, Montcalm Co., MI in 1867. They both died there or near
by. William in 1924, Julia in 1907. They had 7 children:
1. Ormand b. 1859 in Mahoning Co., OH (my husbands Ggrandfather)
2. Myron b. 1861 " "
3. Mary b. 1862 " "
4. Willis b. 1865 " "
5. Gilbert b. 1870 in Montcalm Co., MI
6. Jay Bentley b. 1871 " "
7. Lelia b. 1873 " "

I don't have any other info on Julia or her family. It's a whole new
starting place for me ! I always enjoy starting a new line. It's like a new
slate after all the usual stalls and brick walls. Of course there's always a
chance that you're going to hit another wall....but hey...lets be positive
!!
