Subject: [STEWART-L] John & Janet Stewart, Aulich farm, Kinloch Rannoch, 1871-1882

My great grandparents were John & Janet Fenwick (Stewart) Stewart. Janet's
maiden name was Stewart also. John b. 1824 at Dowally, Perth; Janet b. 1830
at Caputh, Perth. They were married in 1858 at the Drum of Kincairney,
Caputh. To them were born the following children:
Jane b. 1859 Clunie, Perth
Isabella b. 1860 Clunie
James b. 1862 Clunie
Elizabeth b. 1864 Clunie
Daniel b. 1866 Clunie
Euphemia b. 1869 Clunie
Jessie b. 1869 Clunie (a twin)
Joanna b. 1870 Clunie (my grandmother)
John b. Sept 18, 1872 Aulich, Kinloch Rannoch
Charles b. July 22, 1876 Aulich, Kinloch Rannoch
During the 1871 Clunie census, the family was living on the Riechip farm.
Sometime between the taking of that census and the birth of their son, John,
in 1872 they moved from Clunie to the Aulich farm near Kinloch Rannoch. They
continued living there until June 1882. However, I have not been able to
find them in the 1881 Kinloch Rannoch census. On Jun 1, 1882 the family
sailed from Glasgow on the SS Manitoban, arriving in Quebec, Canada on Jun
14. They lived on a farm near Collingwood (60 miles NW of Toronto) for
several months before coming to Oregon, and settling on a homestead on Mount
Hood Flat which is a short distance South of The Dalles, Oregon.
I am a retired teacher living in Canby, Oregon, USA. I would be very
interested in hearing from anyone with information relating to any of the
above.
