I'm very interested in hearing from anyone who may be related to the
following family:
Donald Stewart (b. 3/27/1796 at Logierate) married Jane/Jean McNaughton (b.
1792 at Dowally) on 9/11/1823 at Dowally. They had the following children:
John b. 2/14/1824 at Dowally
James b. 11/9/1825 at Dowally
Donald b. 8/3/1828 at Dowally
Elizabeth Murray b. 9/26/1830 at Dowally
Euphemia b. 7/1/1832 at Dowally
Jane/Jean b. 6/19/1840 at Kirkmichael.
Between 1832-1840 the family moved to the Glenderby farm in Kirkmichael
parish. The family is listed there in both the 1841 & 1851 censuses.
Between 1851-1871 the family moved to the Craigend of Riechip farm in Clunie
parish. Mrs Stewart died in 1871 following a 2 yr duration of breast cancer.
Mr Stewart died between 1871-1881. Donald & Jane/Jean were my great great
grandparents. Their son John was my great grandfather. John's emigrated to
the USA in 1882. My wife & I will be coming to Scotland next Spring, and
would like, at that time, to meet any family who may still be living there.
