No, Jim didn't go on vacation.
Remember, everyone, that if you let your mailbox fill up for
any reason and the list server computer gets too many
"bounced" messages to your email address, it will delete you
from the subscriber list automatically. The inconvenient
thing for you is, if your mailbox remains full, you may not
receive the automated message telling you you're going to be
unsubscribed.
This isn't something I do manually. It's set up this way by
Rootsweb to avoid clogging the Internet with bounced mail.
If it happens to you, or you think it has, you can
resubscribe as you did originally, by sending a message to
, containing the word
SUBSCRIBE and nothing else. You'll be automatically
reactivated on the list.
If you have any problems with the list, send me a private
email. I can resubscribe you manually, but it's accomplished
immediately if you do it yourself, whereas if you have me do
it, it has to wait until I have time and may take a day or
two.
By the way... the list has indeed been slower lately, but as
I mentioned a couple of months ago, this happens every
summer when large numbers of people go on vacation. It's
also the time when lots of people get unsubscribed because
they forget to arrange their email to accommodate unread
mail.

Please reinstate me. Did Jim go on vacation? What's going
on?
