Hi Kitty,

This line is in the Stewart Clan Magazine though not much of it.

Samuel PA 1781 s.Rob/--, WestmorelandCo F73, 84

Joseph PA 1818 s.Sam/NancyScott F74 (notJohn), 84 (a typo on page F74
has him as John, but this was corrected on F84)

Samuel's father was Robert Stewart, whose wife's name was unknown to the
researcher. The genealogy was written by Archibal Stewart, another son
of Samuel. The very short paragraph says that Robert was living near
the Youghiogheny River in western PA as early as 1771, when the area was
part of Cumberland county and also claimed by VA as part of Augusta
county. He entered the Revolutionary army from Westmoreland county as a
corporal in Capt. Evans's company in the 3rd PA regiment and served
until 24 Feb 1781, when he may have moved to Butler county. He probably
had more children; the only two known were Samuel, who amrried Nancy
Scott, dtr of John Scott, in 1803, and Robert, b. 15 July 1771 who
married Margaret Christie in Butler county.

Have a look at http://users.hol.gr/~mkyritsi/ for the indexes to the SCM
which also gives you a link to a list of libraries around the country
where it is located.

Good luck,
Mary
