Subject: STEWART Family in Western NC circa 1770

> Rosannah STEWART (1770-1839) gave her birthplace as TN and m. to Robert
Boyd in 1788. My understanding is that, in 1770 all of eastern TN was NC
until 1796. In any event, are any of my STEWART cousins connected to STEWART
ancestors of that time and place?. Rosannah's father, Joseph STEWART (abt.
1745 -1807) later settled in 96 (Newberry) CO, SC where he and his wife
Mary raised sons Joseph (abt. 1768-?), John (abt.1772-?)and Samuel
(1780-1839). Their daughters, in addition to Rosannah, were: Mary
(1777 -1838 m. Samuel McClure), unknown (1774 -?) m. George McDonald) and
Esther b. 1784, marriage unknown.

others doubt his or any other families settled there until the cessation of
the Cherokee troubles after 1766. Any fertile ideas?
