James and Floyd,
Excuse me for "butting" in, but I, too, am interested in a Robert STEWART from
Louisiana.
The Robert that I'm looking for was born about 1862 in Alabama. His mother,
with
whom he lived in 1880 Jackson Parish, LA Census, was Malissie Jane Rape
Stewart Huey. ( Malissie Jane's first husband was Owen Stewart who was killed
in the Civil War. Owen was a twin brother to my g-grandfather. )
Robert married Cattie Jones 12 Dec 1886 in Jackson Parish. I haven't found
Robert and Cattie Jones Stewart in the 1900 or 1910 Census.
I would appreciate any additional information about this family.
Thanks,
Norma Stewart Robinson

<< Floyd, I have some interest and information on a number of Stewart families
in north Louisiana. The name Floyd Stewart seems to ring a bell as
certainly does the name Robert. I have some information on several of the
mid to late 1800s era. My information centers on Lincoln, Jackson,
Bienville, and Claiborne Parishes. Would be happy to hear from you. Can
you supply more specific detail on times, locations, etc.?
I believe I have seen your request severasl times and each time thought
I would respond - finally did!
