Hello Stewart researchers - I was wondering if anyone might know of the
following Stewart family that may have gone to ILL. The 1850 Truxton,
Cortland Co., NY census lists - I feel like the youngest son John may be my
ggrandfather. I did not find this family on the 1860 Cortland Co., NY census.
1850 Truxton, Cortland Co., NY census, visitation 376:
Joseph Stewart, age 49, Farmer, b. NY
Jane, age 23, b. NY
Solomon, age 9, b. NY
Alvah, age 7, b. NY
William, age 5, b. NY
John, age 1, b. NY
Elisa Rose, age 6, b. NY
The clues that lead me to believe that youngest son John may be my
ggrandfather: written on the back of a picture that my first cousin has -
John Bolton Stewart was born in Truxton, NY. From a family bible that
another cousin has - John B. was born Oct. 1847, NY. Also, John B. named his
only "natural" son Alvah T.
Any information/help/ideas - will be greatly appreciated - Dot
