Hello Robert,
Have you had a look across the very narrow channel of water to Ireland?
A great many of the Scots commuted to jobs there. Campbell being a
lowland name, you just might luck out there. Start out with County
Antrim
New Braunfels, eh? I lived there back in the 50s ... my husband was
learning how to be an Army pilot at San Marcos. Wonderful people in
that town, I have always felt that I had already had a trip to Germany
while living there, with the biergartens and all! But oh, the hot, hot
wind of the summer! We lived in a flat on the edge of town and the wind
would roar through one window and out the other -- no air conditioning
in those days -- we had a parakeet and he had to learn tricky flying
too, he'd fly into the crosswind to get across the room -- marvelous
sight. And attach himself to the screen and yell insults at all the
outside birds ...
Good luck with your Campbell link. Most of them did have Stewart wives
and mothers, it's crazy!
