Hi Ronna,

This family can be found in the Stewart Clan Magazine, starting with the
search for Nathaniel Whitney, who is on page A220: Sarah Stewart, b. 19
Sep 1778, d. 18 Apr 1848 marr. him on 27 Feb 1803. Her parents were
John Stewart, b. ca 1750 and Ruth Newton. John's pages are:

John MA 1750 s.Dan/LydiaCutting A219, 220, B246, 251, D270

It says he ws given the title of general from his service in the Vermont
militia, but it also says his service in the Revolutionary war is
undetermined.

The lines goes back John4, Daniel3, Daniel2, Alexander1, of Marlborough
Mass. Please see my indexes of the SCM at
http://users.hol.gr/~mkyritsi/ to find the rest of the relevant pages
for this line, as well as a page link to show which libraries have the
full run of the Magazine.

Good luck,
Mary
