I am a STEWARD researcher with my family primarily in Surry/Sussex/Brunswick, attempting to find the parents of a Charles Steward who married Ann Pace, daughter of Richard Pace and Rebecca Poythress. Charles' birth is late 1690's or early 1700's. There is a Charles Steward in Charles City who could be the father; another possibility is the William Steward who was in Surry, moving to North Carolina about 1695. Also, a Charles Steward is shown as a witness to a Bagnall's legal document in Isle of Wight in 1647. This Bagnall was the son-in-law of Rev. Robert Braswell of same county. In Surry, one of my ancestors, Jane Braswell Robbards/Roberts, wife of John, was also the daughter of Rev. Braswell. Her granddaughter Mary Shands married William Steward, son of Charles and Ann Pace Steward.

I would appreciate any help solving this puzzle.
