We would like to increase our Stewart data-base. Here is
the information we have. My grandfather, Carl Treet Stewart
was the only child of William (nmn) Stewart and Emma M
Baldwin. He was born in Matherton, Michigan in 1852.
William (nmn)Stewart was born in Ohio in Jan 1842 to John
Alexander Stewart and (1st name unknown) McDonald. He had
the following siblings. John, Albert, George, Fred, Anna,
Maqry, Ida and Amanda (birth dates and places unknown)

It is believed that John Alexander Stewart came directly
from Scotland to Ohio. I am curious as to his actual port
of entry. We have no information about this. I do have a
copy of a land patent issued to a John A Stewart of Guernsey
County, OH. The certificate of the REGISTER OF THE LAND
OFFICE was deposited in the general land office at Marietta
OH

I am hoping there are people who subscribe to this list who
may be descended from any of William's siblings

According to a letter that William's sister, Amanda wrote to
him from St Joseph, Michican (the original is in the
posession of an uncle), sister Mary passed away thursday Oct
27 1921. A person named Hannah is mentioned as being
present "with her to the last". "They called Fred at Grand
Rapids he come on the midnight train."

She mentions John and Minnie .

We do know that John was living in Anacortes, WA in 1920 and
passed away about 1925 or 26. Ida was in Michigan in the
late 20's and Gr grandpa William Stewart was in Gold Beach
Oregon during the time the letter was written.
I hope to connect to some Stewart cousins and would
appreciate any help you can give.
