Hello All other Stewart researchers,

I have about given up finding the parents and siblings of my Thomas, but will try this mailing list. According to CW pension papers, Thomas W. Stewart was born ca 1827 in Berkely Co., VA (now WV). The information also gives his father as William. I first find Thomas in Henry Co. IA in the 1850 census when he was 23 yrs old. He married two years later, Eliza Shaner and they moved to Wapello, Louisa Co., IA. Thomas was a cabinet maker and carpenter. They had 4 children; Oliver Thomas b. 1853 m. Elizabeth Sullivan, William Francis b. 1856 m. Phoebe Green, Charles Shaner b. 1859 m. Anna Graham, and Adda M. (?) Female (?) b. 1862 d. 1864. In 1872 Thomas and his family moved to Boulder, CO. I can find nothing of Thomas before 1850.
In Henry Co. New London Twp., living next to Thomas in that 1850 census was a J.J. or I.I. Stewart, a Methodist minister and his family, from NJ. Is this coincidence or are they related? In Louisa Co., at the same time as my Thomas, in the Morning Sun community, was a John C. Stewart. This John was b. 1814 in Williamsport, Washington Co., MD, but spent his youth in Berkley Co. VA. His father was William Stewart and mother was Rebecca Crumbly. Could this John be an older brother of my Thomas? I am hoping that someone can help me find my (2) great grandfathers ancestors and descendants. Thanks in advance for any help. Aneta Cantrell
