Can anyone tell me where Bristol Parish might be in Virginia? I have a
record that John, below, was born there (see the Stewart Family
Magazine), but which county? Are there parish records extant? His will
was probated in Amherst Co., Va. His children were born variously in
Amherst and Hanover Counties, Va. There are a number of references to
him in the Stewart Clan Magazine, and to his extensive number of
children. One of these was John Stewart of Oglethorpe Co., Georgia, who
was appointed a Brigadier there in 1796 and served until 1814.

JOHN STEWART was born 16 October, 1734 in Bristol Parish, VA, and died
Abt. August 1784 in Amherst Co., VA. He married ANNIE HAW Abt. 1755 in
Hanover Co., VA, daughter of JOHN HAW and ? RICHARDSON.
