Hi Patricia,
1890 is really too late for information from the SCM; the editor used 1850
as his cutoff date. The few references there are to Minnesota mainly refer
to scattered references to people who moved out there from lines that had
been in the southern states. If you ever do get a lead on a town or county
in Minnesota though, you might be able to check the censuses at least.
