I am also looking for information on the Stuart family decending from Mary,
Queen of Scots. One thing that my Grandmother told me was that these
particular Stuarts were Catholic whereas the other Stuarts and Stewarts were
Protestant. She said that many of them migrated to Nova Scotia to avoid
religios persecution in Scotland. My Great-Great-grandmother's name was
Christianne Stuart from Nova Scotia, probably from around Sydney Mines. She
was married to Charles Edward Bown. They had nine children and my
Great-Grandfather, Archibald Bown, was born September 10, 1902. Their last
name was spelled Bowen by some members of the family. Christianne is the
only Stuart that I have a name for, and I've sort of come to a dead end. If
you think that she could be part of your lineage, please let me know!
