Hello Folks,

I have been researching my African American Stewart lineage for some
time now and I've used the African American sites as well, atleast what
I've found so far. But I am wondering if any of you have come across
African American Stewarts from the North Carolina area during the late
1800s and early 1900s, during your research. The oldest individual that
I can confirm is a Reverend John Stewart who had a little "store-front"
church called "Christian Church" in Guilford County, NC. His son,
Roosevelt Vernon Stewart was my Grandfather who I never knew and his
son, Clarence Edward is my father. I have no knowledge of Roosevelt's
Mother.

My effort here is to determine when my Stewarts became "Stewart". I
have run into the road block that I am sure most of you are familiar
with. I would appreciate any information you could share with me such
as Plantation Owners named Stewart or anything.

Anxiously searching,

Judi
