Dear John,

The Redstone Country I am familiar with is a large area of SW PA and adjoining
states. It is a sphere of religious influence, not actually a spot on a map.
(see snippit below from History of Amwell Twp, Washington Co., PA by
Crumrine.)

If you have not already done so, I suggest you explore the Washington Co., PA
page
(http://www.chartiers.com) and use its search engine to possibly find your
William Stewart. Lots of data online there.

Good hunting.....

This church was the first one of any denomination organized in Washington
County. It became in 1776 one of the constituent members of the Redstone
Association. The minutes of that body for the early years were never
published, and as they were found in this section it is thought proper in the
history of this first church to give quotations from them. Several of the
churches here mentioned are not now in existence, and little knowledge of them
has been obtained:

"Book A. Minutes of the Annual Association of the Baptist Churches west of
the Laurel Hill, called the Redstone Association.
