Bill Stewart, I'm wondering if we might make a connection. I have
very little information but I think that my husband's Archibald
Stewart came from County Antrim, probably from Balleymoney.
James Neill, who was from Balleymoney, County Antrim, married Rachel
Stewart there before 1815. They had a son, Charles, and she died. In 1815
he took the son and came to America. In 1822 in Trumbull County,
Ohio he married Mary Wallace Stewart who is definitely daughter of
Archibald Stewart. I find James Neill and Archibald Stewart first paying
taxes in Trumbull County in 1822 along with a Charles Stewart in the
same area. I am thinking that Rachel, Mary and Charles were all
children of Archibald and I wonder if they did not all come to
America together. Where they spent the years between 1815 and 1822 I
am not sure.
Does this fit anything that you have found?
