Hello Edward. Your C. Stewart was Catherine, daughter of Robert Stewart,
9th High Steward of Scotland after the death of his father 9 Apr 1327.
Robert, b. about 1316, was the son of Walter Steward, 8th High Steward, who
married Marjorie Bruce, daughter of King Robert I, who is better known as
Robert the Bruce.
Robert became King of Scotland in 1371 at the age of 55 as King Robert II
and was the first Stewart king. He marr. (1) about 1336 Elizabeth Muir, who
d. about 1355, before her husband became king. According to the Stewart
Clan magazine entry on page C3 (issue of July 1933), Catherine was the last
child born to her.
Children of Robert and Elizabeth (Muir) Steward:
John b. 1337, who became King Robert III
Robert, 1339, Earl of Fife and later duke of Albany
Margaret, m. John de Yle, 7th Lord of the Isles
Elizabeth, 1343, m. thomas Hay, Earl of Errol
Alexander, 1345, Earl of Buchan
Marjorie, m. John Dunbar, second son of the Earl of March
Jane, m. John Lyon
Catherine, m. David Lindsay, Lord Crawford.
