Don't know about your STEWART/STEWARD/STUARTS in Tompkin Co., NY but have
STEWARD/STEWARTS in CT from early 1700's and know some migrated to NYS and
then further west. Try the Stewart Clan Magazine which I can prob. find in a
FHC or poss. a library with a good gene. section.

Hope you find your STEWART. Inadvertently deleted a STEWART message with, I
think, Alexander STEWART in the subject. Would love to have that repeated
for me.
One of my immigrant STEWARTS is Alexander b abt 1680 poss. Ballymena, Antrim,
Ireland - at least he had a recommendation from a church in Ballymena when
joining the First Church of Christ of New London, CT in 1720.

Do you have more info, like names of siblings in your STEWART line?
