In a book of Cemeteries in Kansas, I have found a Stewart family at the
Kemper Cemetery. This cemetery is located in section 3 of Sedgwick
Township, approx. on the north 1/2 mile line. From Sedgwick, Kansas take
county road #811 six miles north, then 1/4 mile east on the dirt road.
It's on the south side of the road, fenced and neglected.

Hillside Cemetery located 1 mile east of Sedgwick on 125th st.
(Harvey Co., Ks. near Halstead, Harvey Co., Kansas)
According to a special edition on Thursday, Oct.19,1939 honoring the
pioneers, the Sedgwick Pantagraph stated the first cemetery in the town
of Sedgwick was staked off across the tracks directly east of the Standard
Bulk Station. An unknown man who was shot was buried there in 1870.
This was Sedgwicks first funeral. Most of the early deaths were due to
gun duels which were common in the early days of Kansas history.
Although there were a few burials out on the hill most were buried closer
to town. The cemetery was abandoned for the present Hillside Cemetery.
The land containing the first cemetery was given to Mr. Frank Smith on the
condition he would move the graves. He moved all the graves that had
markers.
Samuel Stewart purchased all of these lots.
