I agree with your note and would love to solve the puzzle of
Alexander's
parents but may never.
This is what I have:
The LDS Ancestral File 4.17 has Alexander b. 1680 Henrico VA m. Mary
Baily
b. 1688 England. It lists his father & mother as John Stuart b. abt
1666
England & Susanna Burton b. abt 1668 England.
BUT the Scottish IGI shows:

Robert STUART b. 1655 Perth, Scotland
father: Walter STUART
source: Film 935265 Batch 7433101 an LDS submission

Robert Stewart m. abt 1681 Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland
spouse: Janet FORSYTHE

children of this marriage include:
Alexander STUART b. 1680 Edinburgh, Midlothian
John STUART b. 1682 Edinburgh, Midlothian
