I have been searching for parents of James Stewart b. 1723 in
Ireland, came to America at age 7 with father. As an adult he is
found in Rowan Co. NC by 1765 with wife and family. Have an old
Bible page showing his birth, his wife and their children's
birthdates. He named his 3rd son James, which might indicate they
followed the old Scots naming pattern, if so, since his first son was
William, that would mean we are looking for a William Stewart who
came to America about 1730. There are names in common with the
Lazarus Stewarts of Pennsylvania but have found no connection.
Anyone else searching these same Stewarts? Will exchange info.
