For Dawn and Everyone,
What I've been using is information that I received when I visited the actual
cemeteries. But you can contribute what ever burial or cemetery records you
have. If all you have it the name of the cemetery -- that's OK; maybe other
Steinke searchers can give us the location. As for funeral notices and
obituaries, they should go on the Steinke Obits. Board:
http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/SteinkeObits
If, for some reason, you can't post to the Obits. board yourself, send them
to me either by e-mail or snail mail (I will give you my address privately if
you need it). I will accept any information via snail mail, but if you want
it returned I need a SASE, too.
In case there is some misunderstanding among some of the listers--the only
place where each individual can enter data is on the GenConnect Boards that
can be found at the top of the "Links" page. ANY other data, photos, family
group sheets, etc. MUST be sent to me for posting.
If you want your data linked to any other site, please, notify me when you
send your data. And, of course, send the URL. If you have additional data
about the person that you are willing to share, let me know so that I can put
a link to your e-mail address. If you will click on any of the names posted
on "Grave Matters" right now, you will find one of two things. You will
either be taken to a cemetery photo site (my e-mail link is on that page)
that will lead you to a photo of the person's grave stone. Or you will get a
link to my e-mail addy. I will gladly do the same for any of you who send
data to me. If there is no link it means that ALL the information I have
about that person is posted.
Thanks so much for the support and interest. The more information that we
post to the pages, the better our chances for finding additional information.
FYI--Matthias Steinke sent me all the names (& information) in the Steinke
Society data base and I hope to get a page up with all of that information
soon. Please, do not ask me for lookups in the data. Matthias has always
taken care of that sort of thing and, I am sure, will continue to do so.
Leona
