Hello Priscilla,

my name is Matthias Steinke from Lueneburg, Germany. I am member of the
Steinke-Family-Society and we have a database with several thousand Steinke
from quite all regions, they settled.
I checked this database for Amelia, but I couldnt find her. I also checked for
the first name Emilie (the german version for Amelia; if a german speaks this
name out, it sounds like Amelia), but also without success.
Perhaps, you have the marriage certificate of Amelia and Charles? If so, are
there witnesses to this marriage mentioned? Perhaps, some relatives of them?

Have you already checked the books: Germans to America? Perhaps, there are
additional informations to find. If she emigrated with some relatives, they
might be listed there also. I assume, that your local LDS-Center has a copy.

Most Steinke-Families, who settled in Wisconsin came from the area of Posen,
which is now in Poland (Poznan).

It would be kind of you, if you could share all informations you have from
Amelia and Charles with us (marriage, date of decease and so on).
I will inform you, if we get further informations about them.
