Resectfully.
No it is not.
Leverich was Rootsweb. The promises were made in the name of Rootsweb not
Mr. Leverich just like all companies have a person handling business. Do
you think this is Toy Soldier or something? Brian Leverich sold Rootsweb
and it was Rootsweb the company ran by Mr. Leverich that offered in return
for donations space without advertisements in return for those donations.
It is what it is. Rootsweb has broken it's agreement with the members who
donated money each year to defray costs. The purchasers had to know of
these agreements because they were posted on the Rootsweb site for years and
I still have a copy of them.
Regardless of the past it is now time to look to the future and cut our
ties with an organization that is not to be trusted.
Hosting is cheap and we should move our National site immediately.
Advise the members they should also move their county and other project
pages.
What will they do when they have thousands of empty pages of nothing but a
banner sitting on it?
I won't even address the banner and how it is designed I simply do not care
what design they use it has no place on the USGWP pages, period.

Rootsweb did not make such promise. Leverich did. Once Rootsweb is sold
again, Rootsweb is at mercy of the new investors. New investors are not
obligated to honor such promise if such terms were not included.
Suggest you read what Paul Allen has to say about why he left
Ancestry.com in 2002 and more...

I'm staying put until the question involving the archives is solved.
