I am looking for information on the SOWERS family from around Kansas. My gg grandfather Woodward Beard and other family members are buried in Sowers Union cemetery in south Douglas County Kansas near Centropolis, Franklin county. The Beards came to Kansas in the 1850s and I believe the Sowers about the same time. I have been told that the Beards married into the SOWERS family. Other names at the cemetery are Bowman, Shoaf, Watts, Baker, Byerley,Arnold,Crawford and Butz. Most came from Indiana.

Woodwards wife, my gg grandmother Mary Crull Beards sister, Hannah Crull married Henry SOWERS in Wayne County Indiana, 1833. I would like to find out if they are related to the Kansas Sowers. Appreciate your help...
