Dear All,
My ggrandfather was born in Britain in 1857 and emigrated to South Africa in 1876 when he was 19 years old. He married at age 24, raised 7 children and lived in SA for the rest of his life. He died age 73 and is buried in North End cemetery, Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

Question: Would the authorities in Britain have been notified of his death since he was still a British subject when he died?
His file is in the archives in Capetown.
