I am extremely pleased to announce that an electronic version of the Meintjes
family history and genealogy, “MEINTJES 1675 – 1971” by Johann Meintjes,
is now available.

You can view and download the book at

www.e-family.co.za

(the link is at the bottom of the e-family home page.)

The book is black and white text only, designed for two-sided printing. It
should be scaled from American 8.5”x11” to A4 if necessary. The cover is
a single page, in colour. You can print the whole thing, and get it bound
inexpensively at a local copy shop. (Or, it will fit easily on a floppy
(stiffie?), never mind a CD.)

For those who want different versions of the same data, they are available.
All this information is in an Excel spreadsheet. I already have found that an
index of marriages organized alphabetically by the first names of the Meintjes
(rather than the last names of the aangetroudenes) is very useful.

The original MSWord document is also available. Just ask.

There are many I need to thank, including my family. But, the names of those
who gave me encouragement, advice, and resources are the ones who appear on
your computer every day, particularly those on the Buitenposten and the
South-Africa lists.

I must also thank Ron, Delia, and Gerda for e-family. Theirs is a
“completely free genealogy site”, where you can now find my completely
free contribution.

I do not intend to be the Meintjes family historian and genealogist. I have
set up a Meintjes message board at Ancestry.com (the link is on the e-family
site). My hope is that additions and corrections to the family genealogy will
be posted there by individual researchers.

Best wishes,

Keith Meintjes
