Glyn, One of my ancestors was Marthinus Johannes WEEBER b. 1784, d. Beaufort West 25 Apr. 1844, and was the first Gaoler at the Old Prison in Beaufort. I'm looking for more information on the WEEBER family.
Kind Regards,
Ralph.

Are there any records of employed jailers around 1870? I'm looking for
information on John Trueman who died at Bredasdorp jail in 1873. I already
have a copy of his death notice.
