Just as an off beat bit of info. My father was with the garrison at Aus
(Pronounced 'ows' not like the Aus for Oz!) for German prisoners of War.
1916-1918.
I did notice that in my copy of the layout of the small town York in Natal
that Benjamin Lund owned two plots of considerable size one on the corner of
Market Street and Wesley Street and the other on the corner of Clarke and
Queen streets. William Lund owned a plot #28 on Mooi Road.
Any interest?
Pat

in 'rounding up' Germans in S W Africa during 1915. I know next to nothing
about the 1915 invasion but I'm sure there are many of you who can fill me
in. Charles Frederick LUND is said to have received a medal for his part,
but perhaps all the SA troops did.
