According to Saron and Hotz in the book they edited,
published in 1955 about the Jews of South Africa,
there was an Adolf ARNHOLZ who founded the "famous
Inland Transport Company". He lived in Ceres, South
Africa where he was a storekeeper.

On my mother's family tree, there is an Adolf
ARNHOLZ(1841, Germany - 1923,london). He married Mary
LEVISON in Ceres,SA in 1866 and they had four
children. He was a son of Tzvi ARNHOLZ.

Is this the same Adolf ARNHOLZ as the person who
started the Inland Transport Company?

Can anyone tell me more about the ARNHOLZ family in
Germany? That is, about this family in the late 18th
and early 19th centuries. Thanks in advance from
