Have you come across NEFDT's in your parish?
One of the reasons that I feel I am struggling with my own grandfather and
his brother, name unknown, is due to the fact that the brother was involved
with a coloured woman and was ostracized by the family.
I have tried to tell my remaining aunts from this period that I am in no way
embarrassed or feel that this information should be suppressed and that if
they wish I will not divulge this in their lifetime to anyone else in the
family, if only they would give up the knowledge.
I would rather know this side of my family, than go on with the knowledge
lost forever. The shame is, that this brother was never able to share his
love for this woman and his family with his blood relatives.
There is more shame in what was done to him and none whatsoever in what he
did.
