Hi,
Today I attended the funeral of Gertrude Helenor WEBBER nee GELDENHUIS (wife
of the late Thomas WEBBER), born 23 Feb 1919 and Died 31 May 2003. She was
the daughter of Hilda Harriet HOBBS (daughter of James Henry Hobbs and
Elizabeth GODFREY) and Henry Geldenhuis. Gerty was also a close cousin and
friend of Faith Hobbs. As Faith says, she is the last known cousin to her,
and a dear friend, whose cheerful, newsy correspondence she shall miss.
The funeral was held at St Mark's Anglican Church in Pretoria, South Africa.
Gerty's mother Hilda, raised Leon HOBBS, whose mother and father had
apparently died. Her sister Martha never married. I'm not sure what
happened to Leon. Perhaps the surviving family members will know. I'll try
and find out.
