Sorry for taking so long to respond to you but I have been very busy with
family staying here while my sister was in hospital and then more recently,
our family tree has just grown by one. One of our daughters gave birth to
her second child, a boy - our 11th grandchild but only the 3rd grandson!!

Thanks to both of you for your input re the Barnes family and the transcript
of Charles Goldswain's tombstone. I had copied it down from the actual
tombstone about a year ago but it wasn't all legible so was glad to receive
it complete from you, Tessa. About the text information I received from
William - I tried what you said to convert it to a .ged file but it wouldn't
open after that. Never mind, I think I can decipher it enough.
I think Maria Harper must have been 5 (not 15) years old when her parents
married.
