I had one in my records.

SAB Source: URU Volume: Reference: 1363
Application for change of surname, Koch to Sparg

Seen: 16 MAY 02

The URU group were one of the secret ones until 1994, after which they were
opened.

But application to change a surname was only required by the Aliens Act of, I
think, 1938.

Before that, it was not necessary to go through any legal procedure.
