Subject: [ZA] Correction: George Wood 1820 Settler

> As some of you know George Wood 1820 Settler is one of the lines I have
been researching. Over the past three years there have been folk who were
interested in his line and information has been exchanged. Unfortunately I
don't remember all the folk by name so am posting this correction to the
list in the hope that the right people will see it. Folk like Val de Kock,
Paul Tanner-Tremaine, William Jervois, Russell Clayton etc.

Hilton-Taylor as well as various books I have in my collection and found
that we differed on the death date for George Wood 1820 Settler. I duly got
out my handwritten notes from my trip to the Cape Archives in April 2001
when I first started tracking my family, and found I had written 1st but
typed it as 11th. So the CORRECT DEATH DATE for The Honourable George WOOD
is 1st November 1884 and not 11th as previously given by me. Just goes to
show how important it is to check everything, especially information from
our early days of researching our family.
