Hi Bernie,
I have just realised that I am a real duh. I think that I have one of
your WILKINSONs marrying a BOSSENGER.
Firstly I have not forgotten the Caledon look ups. I have just not been
within 50kms of Caledon for some 6 months as I drive a different way to CT.
I will still do them but please be even more patient :-).
To the WILKINSON/BOSSENGER marriage. I have Grace Elizabeth Mary
BOSSENGER b 1892 in Wynberg, CT marrying an EA WILKINSON, I know not when
and where. If it was in CT I suspect it would either have been in the
Wynberg or Observatory Methodist Church. There is issue from this
marriage, definitely one and possibly two daughters as I have a Grace Maude
WILKINSON tied in to the marriage and mentioned in her grandfathers will as
not to go back to her mother! Grace Elizabeth Mary BOSSENGER had a
younger sister Gertrude Louise BOSSENGER b 1893 who married a Anders ARNESEN
some 15 yrs her senior. The had three children and adopted a Margaret
(Peggy) WILKINSON who I suspect was the sisters child. This info was
obtained off death notices etc.
Then there is a record of a Gordon Arthur WILKINSON who is buried in the
same grave in Maitland Cemetery as the parents of the two BOSSENGER
daughters mentioned above. He died in 1943 but I know nothing further as I
have not yet visited the cemetery or been to the old RSC offices to do
detailed research. Another reason to drive 100kms to CT again!
Does this saga strike a bell with you or with any other person researching
WILKINSON.
Regards,
David Bossenger
