Hello again, Diane

herewith a photo of the death announcement for an Edward Ford, taken
from the Grahamstown Journal of 24 August 1843, page 1. As you
can see, it clearly states that he was "one of the settlers of 1820".
From this, it appears that he was born in 1765 and would have been
about 55 years old in 1820. There can be no confusion with the only
other known "Edward" in the settler lists - James Edward Ford, as he
died in Cape Town in 1840. This suggests that your ancestor's age
was recorded erroneously in those lists.
