Hello Diane (and Keith)

There were at least three unrelated families of Ford amongst the 1820
settlers.

One of these was James Ford of Bailie's party, who was married to
Frances (neƩ Strancham) and many of their descendants in the male
line have been given her maiden name. Our museum has a family
Bible of theirs, giving dates of birth of the children (variously in Surrey,
Essex and London) and, unusually, records of vaccination for each!
I have assembled a BK file on this family.

As you quite rightly say, Diane, Edward Ford's family became extinct
in the male line with the death of his two sons and only grandson. he
was the leader of Ford's party of settlers and came from Wiltshire.

with best wishes

William
