Thanks for your reply - inspired by the people who made all sorts of useful
suggestions I scratched around in 'Symbols' and found the wavy equals sign
AND the 1/3, they are in the 'Mathemetical Operators' section. It looks
really good in MS Word, but now the problem is that they don't work when I
paste them into e-mail!
Nearby were little arrows, which came in very useful when I was typing
captions for some extra pictures I added to my family history scrap book
