I've never found a way in Outlook, but usually do the necessary in word,
then copy and paste quite successfully... Useful if you have to do umlatts,
accents, cedillas, $ and £ signs.
Laboriously long if you have plenty of the same symbol throughout a
document. Sometimes better to prepare in word, then cut or copy and paste
into your email...
hope thats helpful.

Is there a way to access this in Outlook Express? I looked but could not
find it in the drop downs but might have missed the right place!

Hi,
There is no need to go to all that trouble in Word, when there is a full
programme set up already...Going to Word document, type your letters,
louren, then go to "insert" option, select option "symbols", you can pick up
the accented c for Lourenco Marques with the formatting table "Courier
New"... I'm sure if you scroll through some of the other options under
symbols, you can find every accent-cedilla you ever needed...and then you
can finish your word Lourenço Marques. Voila!
