Hi Sharon,

Ooops, slip of the digits when typing Joseph's year of birth - 1810 instead
of 1801 which I have in my files.
Is your Sarah Elliott the same lass as my Sarah Sophia Elliott, daughter of
William Elliott and Elizabeth, married on 15 Apr 1857 in Clumber. Sarah was
born in about 1835. She died in about 1930, as per Steve Addison's records?

I think we are both correct !!

Hi Paul,
Bit slow on the uptake here, but while comparing notes with what I have from
various sources:
Joseph Stirk born 1801, which would seem to make more sense considering his
marriage date and wife's birth date (Nash also lists him as a major aged 18
when he came here).
Then William Henry Stirk I have marrying Sarah Elliott (no dates).
What do you think?
