From "The Tarrs of Rokewood" A story of Thomas and Ann Tarr, 1820 Settlers
from Nottingham, England and their descendants by Dennis Adams and Moira
Tarr Page 131

William TARR married Ann WRIGHT. He was the 8th child and 4th son of Thomas
and Ann TARR. They had:

1. Emily Annie mar Gilbert BRENT div 1909.
2. Priscilla mar George STIRK (his second marriage)
3. Leonora Alice mar Henry George Forrester
4. Rosina Elizabeth TARR married William Southey STIRK. Unfortunately there
are no details about this family in the book, just the names and their
spouses. Their children:

4.1 William Calvin mar Ruby PAGE had 5 children
4.2 Joseph mar Hilda BROWN had 4 children:

4.2.1. Florence mar Douglas HADDON
4.2.2. Edith mar Preller LUYT
4.2.3. Reginald mar F BORNMAN
4.2.4. Ronald mar Adriana GROBLER

4.3 Victor mar Connie SMTH.
4.4 Constance mar A SPENSHOTT had 2 sons and a daughter
4.5 Cecil mar Thelma BROWN and had 4 sons and 2 daughters
4.6 Ralph mar H du TOIT and had 4 sons and 2 daughters

5. John William m Mary Elizabeth FORRESTER
6. James Reuben Sawtell mar Annie Dorothy FORRESTER
7. Isaiah Taylor mar Frances Maude VENABLES
8. Thomas * 4.7.1868 and died 13.7.1868.
9. Effie Lily Tasker mar Alfred LLOYD
10. Daisy Emma Wesley born and died 1873
11. Olive Ruth mar John William Ella VENABLES

There is an entry on the Cemetery Projects CD by the GSSA as follows:
Sydney Southey STIRK died on 1 Feb 1968. Sydney was buried in Old Cemetery,
Grahamstown, District Albany, Eastern Cape, Rsa.

Sydney Southey Stirk. Died 01-02-1968. Aged 90 years. Husband of Ethel
Stirk.

I am looking for the mother and father of Sidney William STIRK
Born 15 November 1914, born in Vryburg
Married 1 July 1940 to Olive HOBBS
His father was apparently William Calvin STIRK
I was told his mother is Ruby Page, BUT I thought his mother was ??? TARR,
and could be wrong.
