Hello Allan,
The Royal Navy, apparently, once stored munitions on property now owned by,
I think, Kynochs and I am told that the Navy also billetted men in the
Umbogintwini village. Umbogintwini is approximately 30kms south of Durban
and a number of employees at the local explosives factory live in Umbogintwini.
I do not know where records are archived but you might have some luck if
you contact the factory on 031 904 1500.
Regards,
Pat Smith
