Hi Tessa
The King connection to the Muir family and the subsequent first names of
King of a few of their offspring most probably originated from Rachel King,
thought to be the daughter of Joseph King [1820 Settler] by his second wife
Ann. Ann + 1823 probably in childbirth with Rachel who was born in 1823.
Rachel King married William James Muir abt 1841 and they lived, first in the
Grahamstown District and later Wodehouse District. Another name
incorporated as a first name into the Muir family is Winter, as in John
Winter Muir. There was a Leonard King Muir - a son of Sampson King, Colin
King Muir, Sampson's grandson and Donavan King Muir, Sampson's ggrandson.
Fascinating!
Regards
Viv
