Mye Goodye Cosynes,

The Pioneers Society: 'Roll of Past and Present Members'....
=========================================
I started typing this book out more than a year ago, and spent much time
this past month to finally find the time to complete something I have
started. It has been a tedious task to do. This digital book will be a
landmark, since it is the second last book, of the sets of books I intended
to reproduce about 8 years ago. This book won't be confined to solitude, and
will eventually be supplemented with the several 'Additions and
Corrections' documents that were published by The Pioneers Society. These
documents give details of the names of Pioneers that must be added, changed,
or removed from this book, etc. The reproduction of these books and
documents, is a step by step process by which I intend, as stated on my
website, to produce a complete list of Rhodesian Pioneers, and their
descendants, etc. This list will probably never be complete....

I have now finished the basic typing of this book, and now busy with the
type-setting, and then the proof-reading to do. This book contains about 79
pages of names and dates, etc. I am of the understanding, that 'this book
will never be re-printed again in the foreseeable future'....

If there are any concerns with regards the private off-list distribution of
this book, now would be a good time to express your final opinion, although
I have asked for this several times over the past two years or so, on the
RSA Mailing List, etc., for any concerns. This book also contains some of
the names of members of these lists, and/or their families, and descendants,
etc.... The URL that will be given out to download this book will change
several times. If you are sent the URL to download this book, and receive
errors, ask me again for the latest URL to download this book.

This message is sent to this list since the Rhodesian Pioneers Mailing List
is an off-spring from this list, and that there are a number of persons on
this list, that might be interested in the contents of this book, since it
contains information on their family lines. I will send another message to
this list once this book is finished, and ready to pass on for 'Private
Distribution'.

Lastly, for what it is worth, I will gladly be returning to my 'Markham
Memorials' by Sir Clements Robert Markham, K.C.B., a set of two volumes,
which has been an ultra-marathon to reproduce. I have run out of steam
several times during the reproduction of this book to complete it. It has
taken me into thousands of hours to get as far as I have. Individual
pictures have taken many hundreds of hours each, to edit pixel by pixel.
This will be the greyscale version of the volumes. A future update will be
the colour version. The entire set of volumes is complete, except for the 43
remaining genealogical charts, which takes forever to do a single chart
properly. I have left the reproduction of these volumes for 2-3 years now,
but will be my biggest single contribution to genealogy in digital book form
to date.... The formatting and layout of what appears to be a simple book,
has taken me more than 10x the amount of time to hand type the volumes out.
The 2 volumes span 1000 years of unbroken descent. I have no intention of
doing a set of books again....

====================================================
Yours Sincerely, Sir Ken Markham, K.C.B. (95)....

"It is one of the objects of the Society to record and encourage the
preservation and publication of the history of the early years of our
country, together with the names of those who took part in it. The research
done.... by others in compiling this book will be invaluable to the Society
in carrying on this work." - B. Lovemore.

"Sometimes they performed feats of astonishing valour, and physical
endurance, and some of them died, worn out with hardship.... They have
earned their place in history." - Constance Parry.
